Catherine Gerardi
Oboe

Catherine Gerardi has appeared as oboe soloist with orchestras in the United States and Europe. In 2001, Concerto for Cathy was written for her by Harold Farberman and performed for the first time with the Rousse Philharmonic of Bulgaria. She has also performed the concerto with various orchestras in the United States, including the Springfield and Plymouth Symphony orchestras. Last April, she premiered the piece with the Sebastian Chamber Players at Merkin Concert Hall. Ms. Gerardi is principal oboist of the Conductor’s Institute Orchestra at Bard College. She is a featured soloist and clinician at the Lucarelli Oboe Master Class at Music Mountain in Falls Village, CT, The Hartt School, and SUNY Purchase. She studied with Robert Bloom and received her college degree from the Juilliard School.
