Gonzalez Timpani/Percussion |
|
Ed Gonzales maintains an active schedule as a freelance percussionist in New York. He crisscrosses the island almost as much as he crisscrosses styles and will enjoy making music as the timpanist in one of his orchestras, the drum set player in one of his blues groups or as the bodhran player at a traditional Irish seisun on any typical evening. A native of Queens, he holds a Bachelor's degree in percussion performance and a Master's degree in orchestral conducting from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College where his teachers included Raymond Des Roches, Roland Kohloff, and Maurice Peress. He is currently timpanist/percussionist with Manhattan's Dicapo Opera Theatre, Camerta New York, Encompass New Opera Company, Brooklyn's One World Symphony, The Staten Island Symphony, and RCA Victor recording artist Michael Amante. |
