Ezra Seltzer Cello |
| Ezra Seltzer currently attends Yale University as an undergraduate history major and the Yale School of Music as a candidate for a Master’s degree in cello performance as a student of Ole Akahoshi and Aldo Parisot. He has been a member of the Yale Cellos under the direction of Mr. Parisot, and participated in their tour of the Manchester and Beauvais Cello festivals. Past summer music experiences include the 2001 Cello Master Classes with Mr. Parisot at the Banff Centre for the Arts in Canada, and the Perlman Music Program in Shelter Island, New York, where he studied with Myung-Wha Chung, and performed in solo, chamber music, and orchestral concerts. As a participant in the 1999 and 2000 Mostly Mozart Festivals at Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center, he performed the Mendelssohn Octet with Itzhak Perlman and appeared as principal cellist of the Perlman Music Program Orchestra under Mr. Perlman’s baton. In 1999 he also traveled with the Perlman Music Program to Tel Aviv. A member of the Artistic Committee of Sebastian Chamber Players, Mr. Seltzer has performed chamber music throughout the New York area, including Weill Recital Hall, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. As a student at Mannes College of Music Preparatory Division, he studied cello with David Gibson, Irene Sharp, and Barbara Mallow. Winner of several student music competitions, he performed as soloist with the Mannes Prep Senior Orchestra for which he was also the principal cellist. |
