Just twenty-two years old, Lana Lee has won numerous awards from an early age. These include top prizes in the Menuhin-Dowling Young Artists Competition, Pacific Musical Society Competition, and a national award from the National Federation of Music Clubs Competition, among others. Ms. Lee has performed as soloist with the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra, California Youth Symphony, Baroque Sinfonietta, and KAMSA (Korean-American Music Supporter’s Assocation) Orchestra. She has also participated in various summer music festivals, most recently, the Spoleto Festival of Two Worlds as well as the Aspen Music Festival. An invitation from the Paros Summer Music Festival in Greece led Ms. Lee to perform a solo recital there in September. Ms. Lee has also performed in such venues as Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher and Alice Tully halls of Lincoln Center under prominent conductors such as James Conlon, James DePreist, and Otto-Werner Mueller. Born and raised in California, Ms. Lee began her violin studies at the age of nine with Jenny Rudin. She received her Bachelor's degree from the Juilliard School where she studied with the late Dorothy DeLay and Masao Kawasaki. She is currently pursuing her graduate degree at the Yale School of Music as a student of Ani Kavafian. |
